4 tbls butter
1 clove garlic
8 oz Marscarpone cheese (or cream cheese)
16 oz half and half
grated nutmeg to taste
black pepper to taste
2 to 3 oz grated Parmesan cheese
16 oz box fettuccine noodles
1 lb shrimp (optional)
season to taste

    With the greatest respect, I see many American channels add tons of cream to make a creamy pasta sauce. Noooo! In Italy we never add cream to pasta dishes. It seems to be a British / American thing. Creamy sauces are an emulsification of butter and cheese, sometimes also eggs (for
    carbonara). Cream makes a beautiful dish into a lump of concrete in the stomach. As an example, here is an American channel that makes Alfredo without cream: @

    Looks very good. It will be on my "to plan" menu within a week. This is a really simple meal that could be planned for a lunch or dinner.     “Fettuccine Alfredo are not a thing in Italy,” but in the US it has become a staple in many restaurants that brand themselves Italian.
    You have it in restaurants called Italians Rest. in YOUR Country!!! Definitely NOT in Italy!!! Was it that hard to understand??

    Everything is Easy if you are lucky enough to have all ingredients on hand and can afford Shrimp. This is one of my favorites to eat if I’m lucky enough to eat out. All pasta gets cold very fast though. It does look so good.
