South Carolina man reportedly fakes own kidnapping for $130

A South Carolina man was arrested after he allegedly faked his personal kidnapping to attempt to swindle his mom out of $130.

Emmanuel Franklin, 19, plotted his alleged plan on Jan. 22, based on WLTX.

Franklin reportedly advised his mom that if she did not put the cash in a mailbox of his selecting, that he could be murdered by kidnappers.

The mom advised Sumter County deputies she obtained a name from her son and a person she did not know, and relayed the incident to them.

The person later reportedly fessed as much as investigators, and allegedly admitted to making an attempt to get the cash from his mom.
