China has the world’s quickest and largest high-speed rail community — greater than 19,000 miles, the overwhelming majority of which was constructed up to now decade.

Japan’s bullet trains can attain practically 200 miles per hour and date to the 1960s. They’ve moved greater than 9 billion individuals with no single passenger causality. casualty

France started service of the high-speed TGV prepare in 1981 and the remainder of Europe rapidly adopted.

However the U.S. has no true high-speed trains, apart from sections of Amtrak’s Acela line within the Northeast Hall. The Acela can attain 150 mph for under 34 miles of its 457-mile span. Its common velocity between New York and Boston is about 65 mph.

California’s high-speed rail system is beneath development, however whether or not it should ever get accomplished as supposed is unsure.

Watch the video to see why the U.S. continues to fail with high-speed trains, and a few corporations which might be attempting to repair that.

Why The US Has No Excessive-Velocity Rail

  • olindj on May 9, 2019

Because automobile industry and other industries related to it are so important to the united states.

  • Prashanth Budihal on May 9, 2019

The TUK TUK lobby in Bangalore, India prevented suburban trains from operating in the city. People organised protests and demanded those trains. Now the project has started seriously. USA citizens should demand trains like this.

  • KWB on May 9, 2019

Greed of whites, affecting all man kind and dooming all to suffer. All with the blessing of the us government. Redistribution of the wealth and REPARATIONS for native black Americans who descended from African slaves.

  • RatherA on May 9, 2019

US is run by lobbies. Lobbies that are backed by airline companies won't let that happen. Lobbies influences every policy in US from going to war with Iran to healthcare

  • VSC is OFF. Really. on May 9, 2019

We don’t even have responsible and dedicated people in the USA who can operate these trains safely. Just look at our bus drivers and cab drivers, even our pilots… compare them to even fast food servers in Japan who seem more dedicated and highly mindful of task at hand and concern towards customers.

  • John Yap on May 9, 2019

Maybe private should build it. Paging Elon Musk.

Imagine highspeed railway system, imagine Singapore's Changi Airport prestigious appeal and amenities. Use your imagination.

  • Andre Lucas on May 9, 2019

But how can we pay for rail when we need the border wall to keep out people that would gladly help us, side-by-side, build both?

  • Helder De Almeida on May 9, 2019

USA has the same problem England has

  • Evil Otto on May 9, 2019

Because we have air travel, don't want to spend trillions on high speed rail, don't want to spend increased time traveling between cities, because high speed rail doesn't go everywhere even in China, and because we have *cars*.

There. I just saved everyone the time it takes to watch this. Keep pushing your overpriced choo-choo trains, lefties. It's never going to happen.

  • Wi se on May 9, 2019

Bring in the Hyperloop. Where is Elon??

  • VSC is OFF. Really. on May 9, 2019

Flat land of Japan? What is he talking about? Has he even ridden a Shinkansen? It goes through a tunnel every minute for hundreds of miles, and bridges every 3 minutes between Tokyo to Hakata. Japan is a big mountain range that grows out of the bottom of the pacific and forms a set of islands. There’s very few areas where it’s flat. In contrast, between San Francisco to Los Angeles along Central Valley is almost completely flat except a few areas east of San Francisco and 80 miles north of Southern California…

  • GerardPedrico on May 9, 2019

Basically, just make Americans feel good and special in using highspeed railway system. Element of pomp and prestige attract public interest…

Create related services and related businesses that complement the highspeed railway system. New markets for the highspeed railway system. New industries.

  • K Matsu on May 9, 2019

    7:30 " the rail lines in . . . . Japan . . . dont incur the high expense of boring (drilling)…"

    What a LOAD OF CRAP!
Japan is one of the most mountainous countries in the world, and accordingly, it boasts 6 of the 10 longest rail tunnels in the WORLD! All but one of those are shinkansen lines.

Morw importantly, Japan is currently building a maglev line from Tokyo to Kobe (I happen to live in the area that will get the first stopping point after Tokyo). Though the later phases will have less mountains to traverse, the stage from Tokyo (Shinagawa) to Kofu (Showa) will spend an estimated 48% of its ENTIRE 130km travel distance in tunnels! The next stretch which will go on to Nagoya will — when completed — become the longest and the deepest high-speed rail tunnel in the world. The train will speeds of up to 300Miles pr hour

So quit lying! You only make the US look even MORE pathetic!

  • Reyna Aleman on May 9, 2019

We perfer our cars and plains were fine the way we are so if you dont like our style stay away and dont ask for our help!!!! 😁☺

  • GerardPedrico on May 9, 2019

Because high-speed railway system requires a humongous collaboration effort that has to remain consistent. Automobile infrastructure is a more manageable economic political system and it gives Americans a good sense of individuality. High speed railway system is cool but the value-benefit cannot be immediately felt because of the gradual-slow value transitory. Cars give more psychological satisfaction.

    1. Create a market segment for highspeed railway system.
    2. Create a luxury perceptive kind of service quality to ensure cash inflow for companies.
    3. Create amenities and top quality service quality that mimicks Singapore's Changi Airport satisfaction and happiness (element of paradise).
    4. If the market segment expands then other players and other companies come in to expand that market segment.

  • Kni on May 9, 2019

America is a mess, how hard can it be to build a railway… It does wonders to traffic and property prices if done right, making it viable to live in regional area where its cheaper and commuting to the major cities via train.

Its a question raised to the powers that be.
So this was my comment on the penny video.Havent seen the video yet but I have a I have a feeling I can replace pennies with bullet trains and the statement will be true for this video too.

  • mitsubishidiamante on May 9, 2019

America got no money to spend on a high rail bullet train but they got lots of Money to Invade and Bomb other Countries and murder a lots of People, Now The Question is how much are those Bomb and Jet Fighter cost? and how much is the High Speed Rail Bullet Train?

  • Meliodas Mangubat on May 9, 2019

You dont need high speed just 100kph is enough, just build that god damn railway..

  • thewaitingape on May 9, 2019

The tipping point may be climate change. I find that that there are many more medium to large rain events, especially on the eastern seaboard. Not devastating but frequent. A large band of showers from Boston to DC can disrupt air travel for hours across the nation. As they increase in frequency a more reliable mode of transportation will be called for.

  • dsap4004 on May 9, 2019

We don't need high speed rail. That's the real reason. We have a network of rivers. It's way cheaper to ship via river vs rail. Other countries wish they didn't have to use rail. You can carry much more cargo and it takes less energy by boat. So weird that we are not educated in this country about why we are so rich. It's the land. This is the best spot on the planet to build a country.

  • malone quinn on May 9, 2019

Oil companies in America will surely be bankrupt if railways will be built. It is about business. They are more concern of business than polluting their people.

The reason it is more expensive in America, is that the profit margin is higher and other industries controlling it, also America has a dinosaur president.

Perhaps America could build fewer aircraft carrier fleets. That must be a drain on the economy, but then maybe the defence industry own the Government.
